Games teach players to cooperate. ( T )
I agree because many games require 2 or more players to play this game. So players learn to cooperate, help each other, encourage and support each other in order to win the game. Furthermore, they learn how to play as a team and learned that team work has a lot of advantages than individual work.
2-Video games are addictive. ( T )
Even if you play few hours a day, after a while you will play more until you become addicted to the game. You may think that you can dominate yourself but it's very difficult because video games create either negative or positive feelings that push you to continue playing. Positive feeling can be as if you won a stage of a game, you will feel excitement and pleasure which leads you to continue playing to achieve victory. On the other hand, negative feeling creates when you loose a game, you feel upset and insist to win the game so you play and play and play until you win. So both feeling leads you to continue playing until you be addicted.
3-Video games create problems in relationships. ( T )
In my opinion, this statement is true because the player doesn't spend time with their relationships as much as with playing games which creates many problems. For example, one of my friend's husband ,if I can say , he is " addicted to computer games " . After he comes from work, he spends most of his time in front of the computer playing games in a way that annoyed his wife. This bother her a lot cause whenever she wants to talk to him or goes out with him, he is busy playing games. She felt that the video game is her "enemy". As a result, she spent most of her time outside the house with her friends which creates a lot of troubles in their relationship.

The Oral Presentation
In fact, I didn't expect that preparing my oral presentation won't be that much difficult because I already knew and understood the information very well. Furthermore, I was worry about how to organize my presentation but i organized as I did in my paper which I think is the best way to organize my topic. However, what took me long time in preparing my presentation is the amount of information because i don't want to put too much information that may be boring at the same time I don't want to put little so it may sound not enough to understand. So I learned how to balance the amount of information with the time that i supposed to present within it.In addition, using the power point helped me a lot cause I can see the points so I can remember and explain easily each point. Furthermore, practicing is the most important thing that i learned which gave me confidence and reduce my nervous.
I felt nervous while I'm presenting because I was worried that my classmates won't be interesting in my topic because it speaks about parents and children and no one is a parent except for Sayed. However, in the question period, I surprised, they react with the topic very well. There were a lot of questions and discussions about the topic which made me feel glad and relaxed. "Thank you". This part is very important, I think each student have to ask at least a question or a comment to the presenter to encourage him/her and to show him/her how interested his/her presentation was.
For me, presenting in front of the class and listening to my classmates' presentation were one of the most interesting part in this course. I enjoy listening to others presentation because I learned a lot. First, I learned different styles of presenting and I think the ones who have sense of hummer keep the audience attached to the topic more. Furthermore, using power point can be so helpfully and each classmates used nice and unique style with power point. In addition, using clear voice is very important to keep the audience attention.
As Lili said, I think all of us did a great job in our presentation. I wish all of us good luck in our future presentations :)

Improving Acadimic Performanve
From this reading, I'm interesting in the part of Developing Sound Study Habits because it provides a good strategy to manage your time for studying. In fact, many students do this mistake, they don't study until the last few days before exams. It's very important to set up a schedule that organize your time for studying. From my own experience, I used similar method in my university (actually in some subjects ) which helped me a lot so I don't have to stay up all night cramming for my exams. Furthermore, as the text noted that studying in a place where there is no distraction is very important. Personally, I can't study in front of the TV or while I'm listening to music. I have to study in a quite place where I can concentrate and I always wonder how can some students study while they are listening to music or watching TV!!!!!!! HOW CAN YOU DO THAT !!!!!!!!!!
In addition, rewarding your studying is very important and enjoyable.I often reward myself by calling some friends. It helps me a lot and motivate me to continue studying.

My Research Paper
Writing my research paper was a great experience for me and I think it will help me so much in my future study. I learned many points from this research paper:
- Writing a research paper can't be done quickly in few days. You need to find enough time in order to finish your research paper on time.
- I learned how to gather information from different resources and that using information from the Internet is not always acceptable.
- The most important thing to do before you start writing your paper is to have a plan.
- I learned different ways of paraphrasing. Writing notes is a good way to avoid plagiarism.
- I learned the different methods for attribution.
- Writing reference list is not easy as I thought. You have to learn the proper way of writing reference list.

population
population growth is a serious problem that faces many countries today but many steps have been taken to solve this problem which make me feel optimistic about the future of population .For example, government are encouraging people to control and reduce the birth rate. In addition ,people become more aware of this problem that may affects negatively the future of their lives and their children's lives. However, overreducing birth rate can generate high rate of aging people which can lead to pessimistic outcome. There will Many jobs and few people that lead to unbalance life and cause serious consequences.
As of now, the population is growing at such a rate that in the near future, the planet will no longer be able to support the huge numbers. I think the industrial countries already accomplished many different solutions to population growth. Therefore, I think they have to help the emerging countries to solve this problem. For example,United Nations has chosen to allow different countries to set a maximum size for families living in that country such as: China.

Hapiness
Happiness is a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.Happiness can be defined differently among people. For me, I think it's a situation in which a person sentenced to life as beautiful and stable life free of pain and pressure, at least from his point of view. For some people, it may be a true joy that springs from the heart and does not depend upon the circumstances, for others it's being able to do something for someone and not expect something in return or it may be defined as seeing the smiles on their children's faces. In fact, every person is seeking for happiness no matter how happiness is define as. .In my opinion, you don't find happiness, you make happiness. You choose happiness. You can reach happiness by doing what brings you the most meaning and contentment to your life over the long run.

Summary of the Lecture
It is an interesting lecture about communication. The first part of the lecture shows how different culture communicate differently.A study on groups of Japanese students and American students , with 2 female and 2 male in each group, shows that the American students have direct style in communication. In contrast, the Japanese style was indirect. They don't use the same language with all people. For example, the don't speak to their friends the same way they speak to their boss or their family.Furthermore, they tend not to argue or confront in their communication. In addition, the study shows that American students have direct style when they start and handle conversation or when they argue. On the contrary, the Japanese style not direct. They tend to start the conversation by ladies-first then by age order.
The second part of the lecture is about conversational coherence between different gender and different ages which shows interesting results. For example, when men talk to each other they usually not face each other. But when women speak to each other the tend to face each other even if their chairs are not facing which shows the different physical alignment in conversation between men and women. In addition, 8 years old boys use few words and feel discomfort when they speak to each other. However, 8 years old girls feel comfortable to share their story with each other and support each other. 12 years old boys talk about many short topics such as sport; according to research, 55 different topics in 20 seconds. In contrast, the girls talk about fewer longer topics. From age 15, girls and boys tend to speak more like adult but still there is different between them. for example, in troubles talk, boys wants to show their experience with no sharing or supporting to each other. However, girls shows their support to each other by focusing on 1 gril's problem. As boys become adult(age 25),they face difficulty in choosing a serious topic and they don't speak about any personal reflection whereas girls tend to speak about their personal relationships with support to each other.
The third part is talking about TV debates and achieving "expert status".TV debates it's a TV show usually start at midnight for 3 hours that discuss different topics such as social, politics, culture...etc.Peole invited in the show are experts and concerns.A study on these shows finds that men talk more than women and they present them selves as an expert and everybody expect them.In contrast to women, their status as expert is not expected by everyone and they end to be as concern. Finally, communication in workplace. Each work place has different environment depending on the status and connection between people. In addition, there are two types of meeting in the workplace, structural(formal): 1 at a time approach and informal. In the formal meeting, men tend to speak more than women.however,in structural meeting men equal women in participating.
In my opinion, people can notice the differences in communication between men and women in many places and in many situation. From my own experience, I observed these differences in young age kids. My friends' 3 years old sons play with each other as if they are fighting, they run after each other, kick each other and they rarely speak to each other and if they did, they say few words.Whereas other freinds' daughters when the meet each other, they speak a lot in somehow a language as if they really understand each other or as if they are speaking a real language, they laugh, they hold each other hand and share their dolls or other toys.
